“Buying one’s first home is a fairly stressful experience. For my husband and I it was doubly stressful because we were buying our first home from out of state!

I called a few different home inspectors but I enjoyed speaking with Mr.
Werts the most. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional right from
that first phone call! We placed a lot of trust in him because we could not
be at the inspection of our home. Instead he was accompanied by our realtor
and my mother-in-law. Our realtor said that he was the most thorough home
inspector she’d ever seen, and my mother-in-law appreciated the way he
explained things to her.

After the inspection, Mr. Werts gave us a call to discuss his findings, and
to let us know his report would arrive shortly. Within a couple of days we
received an amazing, in-depth report that had photos, clear summaries of
the issues, and his recommendations. We have been in our house over 2 years
and have had no surprises. Additionally, we still work off his report as we
update and maintain our home. Instead of taking advantage of the fact that
my husband and I could not be present, I feel Mr. Werts worked harder to
communicate with us and we were truly impressed.

"My wife and I used Larry for our home inspection on our first home. From the beginning he was flexible with working around my schedule for the appointment which was very beneficial. Larry was on time (actually at the house before I was there!). Being a first time home owner my wife and I were very nervous about buying a house—specifically one that was in good condition. We were putting a lot of faith in a good inspection to insure that we were making a smart investment. On top of being nervous we were both generally clueless about houses and what to look for. Larry put our mind at rest from the very beginning.

During the inspection Larry was fantastic at pointing out items throughout the home. From small upkeep items to major issues, Larry explained clearly what each finding was and to what degree of concern we should/could have. One of the most helpful things offered during the inspection was Larry’s suggestions on upkeep, maintenance and care. Aside from the major aspects of the report, these smaller items felt more personal and were (and have been) extremely helpful. Larry’s tour was thorough and extensive which was exactly what we were looking for. He looked inside and outside, from top to bottom. He didn’t mind if we followed him along asking questions (we asked a lot!). The process didn’t seem to take too long however it certainly wasn’t rushed either.

The report we received very shortly after was amazing! It was detailed and professional-indicating everything he found with its corresponding degree of action or severity. Throughout the report he indicated tips, tricks and items to maintain the house as well as a costing report and timeline on when we should consider replacing/repairing things. His knowledge of the codes and structural issues were very apparent during and following the inspection. He even offered suggestions on what we would need to do if we wanted to do future renovations.

Buying a house is a huge decision and is a major financial investment and risk. Larry’s inspection was a major factor in our purchase of the home. We felt comfortable with him during the inspection and after with his report. My wife and I still reference his report quite frequently for his advice and suggestions. I’ve kept in contact with Larry since, asking him additional questions about the house since we are considering renovations. He responds very quickly and with good sound advice. This is going above and beyond in my opinion.
